The Macro Routine... Mentioned in the previous session- what is the Macro Routine..??? Its the routine that defines the basic activities one does throughout a normal given day. Waking up at 5:30... Run at 6am.. Kids off to School at 7am... Work 8-5... you get the idea. Now if you were a WFH veteran then you can skip past this section and collect 200$ ( thefittercommuter is not really giving out 200$ just personal optimization tricks, tips, and hacks).
For the rookies, the stay at home orders and much like everything else Corona has touched completely turned our once normal steady known routines into a path of unknown. Any type of unknown situation causes anxieties, raises stress, reduces our ability to think through situations and can overall hinder our decision making abilities. A key for me :) has been to stick to my macro routines. I don't know what the future holds... none of us do.. pre or post corona life is and was always full of unknowns. However, I do know I can control waking up at 530am and going for a 6am beach run and while the kids may be off school...I can spend an extra hour with them, start my work day sooner, or just take some extra me time.
Being able to hold on to some sort of normalcy is key to keep the mind on track and not venture off into the weeds of what-ifs and paths of unknowns. Because of the stay at home orders and being forced to be at home it is very easy to slip into an alternative routine- which if not conscious and careful... at best has 50/50 chance of being worse than your pre- corona Macro Routine. I personally like better odds- Lets work together to try to improve those :)
